QUESTIONS, ANSWERS & ADVICE!

Tim the Tylor of The sticky-out bit on the left side of Great Brit asks:
Who declared spinach a food, and for pity's sake why?

Up until 1962 the U.S. Dept of Weights and Measures placed spinach in the Physaliidae Family / Siphonophora Order (the same category as the portugese man o' war jellyfish). It is widely suspected that it was filed there to hide it away and protect the public at large.

Unfortunately in 1962 an overzealous nutritionist by the name of G. Gorgon Liddy took it upon himself to sort through the massive filing systems at the Dept. of Weights and Measures, reclassifying not only spinach, but also liver, lima beans, brussel sprouts and hundreds of other items as 'food'. He did this because he hated children.
